Last Sunday we remembered all those who gave of their lives so that we might live in freedom. At this time I remember the gratitude and love we owe to Christ who gave up his time on earth so that we may have eternal life.
As we move forward I hope that our highest priority is peace and not just an absence of war.
David Adam has always impressed me with his themed prayers of intercession and this section from his prayer ”Order out of chaos” is particularly powerful:-
We pray for peace in the world :
peace between nations,
peace within communities,
peace in our hearts and in our lives.
Lord, show us the peace we should accept,
The peace we should give,
The peace we need to work for
And the peace we should forego.
